COLLEGE LIFE

    This picture is how Dickinson College would have looked when James Buchanan attended it in the early 1800's.  In 1809, after being expelled and  readmitted, James Buchanan graduated with honors from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA.
    Prior to serving in the War of 1812,  he studied law and was admitted to the bar in Lancaster, PA in 1813.
