Principal
Mrs. Anne B. Curry has been serving in the position of Principal since 2001. Anne received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the San Diego College for Women, majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry. In the summer of 2001, she successfully achieved her Masters of Teaching and Curriculum Degree from P.S.U. She has received her certification as a Principal. Anne lives in Pottsville with her husband, Dr. Thomas Curry. They both share a love of children and have three of their own: Thomas, Bridgid and Helen. Kindergarten
Mrs. Louise Kadingo has a long affiliation with St. Ambrose Parish and School and she was one of several people instrumental in setting up our pre-school program. Certified by the State of Pennsylvania Department of Education, she is a graduate of Marywood College with a degree in elementary education and a minor in deaf education. In 2010 she was awarded Schuylkill County Vision Teacher of the Year for her lesson plans that involved a multi sensory approach to teaching about Schuylkill County farming and coal mining. She was also awarded Schuylkill County Conservation Teacher of the Year in 2010 again for her innovative teaching techniques. Mrs. Kadingo with her husband, Charles raised four daughters who graduated from St. Ambrose School and Nativity BVM High School. Mrs. Kadingo is a lector, cantor and choir member of St. Ambrose Parish in Schuylkill Haven. An avid photographer, she also enjoys being a grandmother and working with the children at St. Ambrose! She continues to take graduate courses to keep up to date on what's happening in the field of education.
Grade One
Mrs.
Dawn Edwards, a graduate of Ohio University in 1973, has a degree in Elementary
Education. She is married to Jack and they have three children (Ashley,
Graham and Brittany). Mrs. Edwards, as well, has continued to update her
credentials by taking continuing education courses. She enjoys teaching
our first grade students.
Grade Two
Mrs. Jessica Wolfe is a graduate of Kutztown University, where she received her B.S. in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. She attended Blue Mountain High School, and participated in yearbook, Chorus, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She is a former student of Saint Ambrose School. She takes on the role of the 2nd grade teacher here at Saint Ambrose. She enjoys teaching her students through hands-on interaction and group work. Mrs. Wolfe is currently working on her Master's Degree in Reading. Her hobbies outside of school include: aerobics, cooking, reading and being with her family.
Grade Three
Mr.
Eugene Lehigh is another "institution" at St. Ambrose School. Coming on
board in 1976, he has been a strong male role model for our students. In
1975, he received his B.S. in Elementary Ed from East Stroudsburg College.
He has pursued continuing education credits from many universities especially
in the math, science and computer arenas. In addition to the regular third
grade curriculum, Mr. Lehigh must prepare his students for reception of First
Communion and the Sacrament of First Penance. He also teaches the 8th grade
Algebra program. Many of his former students remember Mr. Lehigh very fondly.
He enjoys joking with his students and helping them to learn. Gene is married
and has two children.
Grade Four
Mrs. Kathleen Reedy was hired in 1986 and we haven't let go of her since. Always upbeat, she could best be described as a "nurturer" of her students. At the fourth grade level, this is the first time students will be participating in the Science Fair and she truly guides her students every step of the way on their class-wide project. Kathleen is married to Robert and they have two children. In 1977, she received her B.A. degree from Marywood College in Elementary Education. The list of continuing education courses she has taken is extensive.
Grade Five
Miss Kara Prock is a graduate of DeSales University, where she received her B.S. in elementary education. She attended Nativity BVM high school, and participated in cross country, track, and year book. She takes on the role of the 5th grade teacher and 7th grade teacher here at Saint Ambrose. She has also volunteered to take on the task of helping to moderate the creation of the school yearbook. Miss Prock is looking into getting her Masters Degree in Reading. Her hobbies outside of school include art, baseball, and spending time with friends and family.
Grade Six
Mr. James Hale is a graduate of Penn State University where he received his B.A. Degree in Elementary Education. A graduate of Nativity High School, he currently is an assistant coach for Nativity's football team. In addition to his sixth grade homeroom, he is teaching 7th and 8th grade Social Studies.
Grade Seven
Mr. Stephen Kulich has taught at our school since 1974. He holds a B.S. in Elementary Ed from Penn State University and has many graduate courses in addition. Steve is married to Deborah and they have two children. Mr. Kulich is a vocal advocate for sports and science programs in our parish. He is the coordinator of the Science Fair and a Co-moderator for Student Council. It is Mr. Kulich's involvement, positive attitude and likability that his many, many students remember from their days at St. Ambrose.
Grade Eight
Mrs. Alison Kraft is a veteran teacher with thirteen years of experience. She is a graduate of University of Delaware with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and a Masters of Education degree from Western Maryland College. In addition to her 8th grade homeroom, she will teach Math to 6th and 7th grade and Language Arts to the 3rd grade. She is co moderator of the Student Council.
