Dear 7th Graders, Parents and Visitors,

Here's some information you'll need for the upcoming year. You may want to print this for reference at a later date.

1. A copy of this paper should be signed by a parent(s) or guardian(s) and the student and returned to school.

2. The format for homework assignments on a loose leaf paper is as follows: On the first line on the left, write the subject. On that same line on the right, write your full name. On the second line on the left, write the assignment (if homework). On the second line on the right, write the date. In the upper right hand corner of the paper, write your student number.

3. All assignments (with the date they are due) must be written in assignment books. Parents are asked to check the list of homework assignments periodically, as well as to see that all given homework is completed.

4. Late assignments will be accepted only if a legitimate excuse is given.

5. Each student will choose a partner. Your partner is ____________________________ and their phone number is ________________ .
It is the student's responsibility to contact his/her partner to find out if new work in any subject has been assigned or to get any handouts that may have been given out while that student was absent from school.

6. Repeated failure to complete homework assignments may result in detention and will affect the student's quarter grade. Detention is Monday through Thursday until 4:30 p.m. It is THE STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILTY to let his/her parents know that they must stay after school.

7. All test papers must be signed by the parent(s) or guardian(s). Tests will be sent home weekly (usually on Monday)in the red binder and are to be returned the next school day.

8. All students are encouraged to participate in the various CYO activities that St. Ambrose Parish offers. Obviously, students involved in any CYO activity are responsible for setting up their own schedule for completing homework assignments; for example, the fact that the student had a CYO activity on a Thursday night does not excuse that student from having all assignments completed and ready to hand in on Friday morning.

9. Copybooks, folders, workbooks and covered textbooks should be clearly marked with the student's name and the subject. All designated books should be covered by Tuesday, September 6. Covers should be replaced throughout the year as needed.

10. Each student must have the following school supplies with him/her by Tuesday, September 6th:

**4 Cloth Bound Notebooks (non-spiral, non tear-out)
**Pens (black or blue and red)
**Several No. 2 Pencils
