| Even though you could often hear a pin drop in our Library, it's still a busy place! With over 11,000 volumes available for use by the students and staff, the Library is utilized for many different reasons. A number of sources can be utilized: books, periodicals, videos and research on the Internet. Library
time is scheduled on a weekly basis for all classes. During that time, lessons
are taught, stories are read and the children select books for both assignments
and enjoyment. Mrs. Stabinski gives instruction in library skills once a
month in order to allow our children to become independent users of the library.
In
addition to Library functions, numerous meetings are held there throughout
the school day by students and staff. Many times students doing specific
research will utilize the four internet ready computers. A
computer software library is also available for use within the school. A
video learning library is also on hand for lending. Regulations
are in place for use of the Library. Fines are charged for overdue books.
If a student loses, destroys or defaces a book, s/he is required to pay
for that book. All students are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate
manner while using the library. |
