In 2000, he married his wife, Meg, and they live in Burlington, Kentucky. John says, "I am getting to work on basic questions of biology, even getting genetic data from birds Darwin himself collected in the 1830's!"

He happily remembers Mr. Kulich's music class (Roxy music, Gang of Four, the Clash) and says "school music isn't supposed to be that cool." Also, he fondly remembers Mrs. Ulsh's Social Studies classes and the Soccer Team.

John attributes his love of science today to Mr. Kulich's classes and Sr. Patricia Ash at Nativity and says because of attending St. Ambrose School, he thinks he is a more thoughtful and conscientious person than he might otherwise be."
